What to say?

I feel like you are waiting for a long narrative about something--anything--but I just can't seem to think of anything to blog about! Every time I sit down to write, nothing jumps out at me. Oh well.

I am a month into my job and don't have much to tell you. Things are going very well. I feel like I'm on the team. I've already done some good things for them and I've got more brewing. Job life is good. It is so laid back around here. The stress level is minimal, at least for what I am used to. I have deadlines, but they are so far out that it seems like light years away. I have till the end of the year to get one of the new methods ironed out and implemented. I'm already 2/3 of the way there and it seems like I've been taking too long as it is. My personal goal is the end of October. I think that is definately doable. It feels like it's been years since I left my old job. I don't miss it.

Katie took a tumble this week and ended up with an injury that could possibly result in a scar. I had just dropped her off and got a call that she fell on her cup and cut her lip and may need to go to the doctor. I was close to work so I ran in to tell my supervisor that she was hurt and I didn't know when I'd be back. I got back to Katie and she had already stopped crying. She is such a trooper! She had a nasty slice on her lower lip from the corner into the middle. Luckily, the cut is where the pink of the lip changes color back to flesh tone, so if it does scar, it won't be very noticable. I called the Dr. on call for the office she goes to and Dr. said that if you can't stick a french fry in it, they won't stitch it. It was only a slice, not a hole, so we didn't need to take her in. It's been two days and her lip isn't swollen except for the area around the cut. It is healing very nicely. She got to wear her jammies all day yesterday because we didn't want to pull a shirt over her head! So, she is doing great and I didn't even cry!

I know it's been a long time since I have updated, but I just didn't have much to say. My job is very uneventful, so the stress level is very minimal. I like that a lot. One of my responsibilities is collecting samples from various locations around town. It's nice because I get outside. I know I probably will not like it much in the winter, but I'll make it! I'm supposed to be getting a bunch of weather wear (coats, boots, etc) soon. I go to the river every day I am sampling. No, not just to play! We collect a sample from the Kansas River every day. So, I'm still getting to know the job, but I like it. It suits me well.

Steve and Nicole are getting married on Saturday, so I've been helping a lot recently getting things done for that. It will be so nice! I can't give any details since Nicole isn't telling anyone. I feel privileged to have the information I do!

Other than that, life is going on as normal. Katie is growing in new ways all the time. She is singing and dancing now. It is so much fun!

Oh, I think this post is number 50!
